Milestones

2017

    • We have started to support the activities of Turkish National Committee of UNICEF on children’s survival, health and education rights and we have become a “Silver Wing Supporter”.
    • We are the first in our sector to offering “Sustainability Stock Pension Mutual Fund” to our customers.
    • We have been named as the "Corporation with the Highest Corporate Governance Rating" in the non-public companies category at the Corporate Governance Summit.
    • We started to support The Spinal Cord Paralytics Association of Turkey"s "Plastic Cover" campaign.
    • Received a Green Office diploma from WWF Turkey by successfully completing the WWF Green Office Program launched at its Headquarters.

2016

    • We established the Sustainability Committee.
    • We have included a binding provision concerning full compliance with our all Management Systems (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001) in supplier contracts.
    • We have added sustainability contents into our orientation program for all newly hired employees.
    • We assumed, with the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System certificate, the title as the first private pension and life insurance company in Turkey that implement an Environmental Management System.
    • We became a member of Professional Women's Network in Turkey.
    • We are the first member of Turkish Business Council for Sustainable Development in private pension sector in Turkey.
    • We launched the Sustainability E-Learning Program that is open to all our employees.
    • We have launched a life insurance product called "Healthy Women" against cancers among women and also thyroid cancer.
    • We continued to support the Earth Hour campaign initiated by WWF in order to draw attention to global climate change.
    • We supported "He for She" initiative, launched by UN Women in 2015. He for She aims to emphasize the support of men in gender equality and women's rights.
    • Our social responsibility project "Back to School" has been awarded at TEGEP Learning and Development Awards, organized to support corporate learning and development investments and operations.
    • We had our Head Office certified to OHSAS 18001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System following the audits of a German independent audit Agency, TÜV-SÜD. We are the first and only pension and life company that operates OHS in Turkey.
    • We published our Declaration of Human Rights.
    • We joined the WWF Green Office Program.

2015

    • We participated in the "Earth Hour" campaign initiated by WWF and we turned the lights of our Head Office for an hour.
    • We signed up to the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC).
    • We set up our sustainability policy.
    • We set up our Environmental Management System and Environmental Policy.
    • We are the first in our sector to adopt Women"s Empowerment Principles, which were developed in 2010 by a collaboration between the UN Global Compact and UN Women.
    • We received the "Gold" certificate from Investors in People (IiP), the only internationally recognized quality standards certification granted to companies that implement the best practices in human resource management and development.

2014

    • We have been awarded as "the Corporation with the Highest Corporate Governance Rating" in the non-public companies category, at the 8. International Corporate Governance Summit.

2013

    • Our "Back to School" project was awarded with the Golden Compass Award at the 12th Golden Compass Public Relations Awards and European Excellence Awards in the "Corporate Social Responsibility" category.
    • As a result of our upstanding performance in HR, we have been rewarded with the first and only ""Silver" Certification in our sector by "Investors In People", the only quality standard in HR on the globe.

2011

    • Our Back to School project was awarded with the SABRE Awards in the "Corporate Social Responsibility" and "Community Relations" category in IPRA (International Public Relations Association) Golden Globe - Public Relations Excellence Award in the category of corporate social responsibility.

2010

    • We launced our unique corporate social responsibility project "Back to School" with the aim of redirecting secondary school children to school from the streets and workplaces. We intended children to form friendly relations with their schools, by the aid of in-school or out-school academic and social activities with their teachers.
    • In 2006, Garanti started to organise the "Women SME"s Awards". Since then, we have started to support women entrepreneurs who won these awards.

2008

    • We launched "Hobby Clubs" project with the aim of adding value to the customers social lives.

2007

    • We added a section entitled "Banking and Insurance" to the curriculum of Cappadocia Vocational High School in the 2007-2008 academic year.

2006

    • We started to support the efforts of the Community Volunteers Foundation, for the education and personal development of youth. The Foundation"s activities include tutoring students with limited means, for high school and university entrance exams, teaching literacy skills and instructing computer classes, all of which aim to provide a solid future for the country"s youth.
    • We launched "Fikirler Fora" platform with the aim of employees to convey their suggestions among our company.

2005

    • We started giving health services to those with limited financial resources and those without social security, especially elemantery school children through modern facilities designed to service in, "Göz Sağlığı", "Genel Sağlık" ve "Çocuk Sağlığı" around Turkey within the scope of "Travelling Health Services" run with the help of AŞV.
